Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2021 Volvo XC90 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Curt 4-Pole Trailer Wiring Harness. Installing a 4-pole wiring harness on your XC90 is going to allow you to hook up a trailer to your trailer hitch and then safely get the lighting signals from your vehicle back to your trailer light so others know what you're doing. Now, more recently, there's a lot of accessories, hitch mounted accessories that are coming out that per the state that you live in you may have to display taillights on the back of your accessory, whether it's a bike rack or a cargo carrier if your tail lights are blocked. So if you have bikes on a bike rack you can get a bike rack that has a. that have alternative brake lights and turn signals on the back of the bike rack. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Concha T1 trailer wiring harness on a 2022 Volvo XC40. You know in towing a trailer, you need to stay safe and legal and part of that's gonna have lighting function going from the vehicle to the lights on the trailer. That way when you have your headlights on or if you use your brakes or your turn signals you can indicate what you're doing to the people behind you and that's gonna be accomplished by using a four pole plug. In this instance. Now there is also a seven but generally this is going to be enough to give you your lighting functions without a brake controller. Now this wiring all feeds into one module and it's all gonna live inside kind of tucked behind this cargo area. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Volvo XC90- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer today on our 2017 Volvo XC90 we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness. So before we show you how to actually get this wiring installed, let's go ahead and just check it out and make sure it's something that's gonna work for you. With that being said, one of the really nice things about this setup is the fact that you can mount it either outside next to your hitch or keep it inside out of sight and out of the elements and that's what our customers chose to do today. And personally, I think that's a great idea especially on these Volvos, they look really nice back here and so the less clutter and things going on the better they look at least in my opinion, but that being said if you keep it inside or what you're gonna have to do whenever you're ready to use it, is lift up your little cargo container there, pull your wiring out and then you can just drape it over your threshold. You wanna avoid the latch area and you simply close your hatch. Now it might seem kinda odd closing your hatch on the wiring, but it's meant to work like that so you're not gonna have to worry about damaging it or anything else, but once you do that, you're gonna have more than enough length to connect to our trailer wiring, or maybe even our light up accessory. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2020 Volvo XC60- Video
Connor: Hey, everyone, Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at Tekonsha's T-One Trailer Wiring Harness here for our 2020 Volvo XC60.Here's how we have our trailer wiring harness secured to the trailer here. As you can see, we're just using the safety chains here, along with the dust cover cap on our trailer connector to secure everything. This particular harness here is going to give us everything we need to remain legal for some of our smaller and medium duty trailers without electric trailer brakes. If we do have electric trailer brakes on our trailer, there are adapters that we can convert this to the necessary seven-way. But the four-way that this harness provides is going to give us all our basic lighting functions, such as the tail lights and the stop and turn signals.In regards to installation, this harness is going to be plug and play, which means we're not going to need to do any splicing into the vehicle's wiring and we can remain 100% factory. more

Your wiring harness is designed to live inside the vehicle. It provides you with a four flat trailer connector that's going to give you all of your necessary lighting signals, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps, keeping you DOT compliant in all States. There's also a dust boot on it so if you do have it outside and you're not using it, you can close it up and you can also use this to secure it to your hitch to keep it up off the road. But in most cases when you're not using it, you'll store it inside. more

Here's what our wiring looks like installed. This four pole flat trailer harness gives us the basic lighting functions that are required by law, in order for us to safely and legally tow a trailer. Our white wire here provides our ground connection, which is necessary between our trailer and our XC60. The brown wire is our taillight and running light circuit. And on that wire, we have a total power output of 7.5 amps of power. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Volvo XC90 we're gonna take a look at, and also show you how to install, the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number is 118411.Now this is what our harness is gonna look like when we pull it out of the package. Here we've got our 4-pole flat trailer connector, this works with all your standard utility trailers, cargo carriers, things like that. This is gonna give us right turn and brake, left turn and brake, running lights, and also a ground to complete our circuit. You can see it has an attached dust cover there, it's gonna help keep out any moisture, debris, and prevent corrosion.Now, that wire's gonna come right out of our module box. Now this box is designed to take signals that it gets from behind the driver's side taillight housing and from behind the passenger's side taillight housing, using the T-connector. more

Here's what our four pole wiring looks like once it's fully installed. It is going to stay on the inside of the vehicle until we're ready to use it, and then we can drop it down and we'll be ready to hook up.Now, it is going to give us a four pole flat trailer connector, which is going to give us all the required lights to get down the road safely, such as our brake lights, turn signals, and taillights. When we're not using it we can store it where our spare tire is, and it'll be out of the way and ready for us whenever we're ready to tow. Now that we've seen what it looks like once it's installed, let's show you how we got it installed.To begin our installation we're going to need to open up our rear hatch, and we're going to need to remove the floor covering. Hopkins Plug-In Simple Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Volvo XC70- Video
Today in our 2016 Volvo XC70, we'll be having a look at and installing the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole flat trailer connector, part number HM11143735.Speaker 2: Okay, well we're ready to hook up to our trailer. Our wiring is conveniently stored inside of our vehicle, so we can just lift up on our storage panel here, pull it on out. We'll set it to the side of our latch here on our hatch. Dangle right down there next to our receiver on our hitch. Close our hatch on up, and we have an adequate-length wire to hook up to our trailer. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Volvo V60- Video
Today on our 2015 Volvo V60 we'll be installing a Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number C56287. When we want to access our trailer wire here, we'll lift up our spare tire well, pull out our wire, set it to the side of our latch. Right there and we can close our hatch down over it. Then we hook it up to our trailer. When we're not using it, we just open up our hatch again. Raise up our spare tire cover and tuck it up out of the way. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Volvo XC90- Video
Today on this 2008 Volvo XC90, we're going to review and install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118411. First off, this is the main wire harness right here. It has 2 T-connectors. The one with the green wire goes to the passenger side, and the one with the yellow wire goes to the driver's side. These 2 wire harnesses go up to the module right here, which happens to take power from a power supply in the back of the vehicle. What it does, it copies the signal inside this box, and then sends it out through the 4-pole flap to your trailer. In this case, the electrical wire harness on your Volvo is insulated from your trailer. more

Today on our 2016 Volvo XC60 we're going to show you how to install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number is 118523. What your wiring kit is going to look like when you pull it out of your package. Of course, this is our main goal, having a functional 4-pole wiring so we can plug that in. It's going to have a dust cover on it there. To get the proper signals to here, you can see our line runs into a plug that's going to be plugged into our converter box. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Volvo XC90- Video
Today on our 2005 Volvo XE90 we'll be installing the Tow Ready t-one vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118411. To begin our install we're first going to open up the rear hatch and tailgate. We're then going to remove the rear cargo cover, open up the rear panel, and remove it. Now to remove it we'll undo the strap on each side, which is just a simple metal button. Once we unhook those two we'll take the center cord, pulling up on it, and we can remove the whole rear section. Now with that out of the way we need to remove the two corner panels. Simply pull up on them and we'll set them aside for reinstallation later. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Volvo xc60- Video
Today on our 2013 Volvo XC60, we're going to be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118523. Now when you're ready to use your 4-flat wiring, you'll pull it out of the storage area, you can then go ahead and close the rear hatch down on the 4-flat wiring, making sure that we stay away from the center latch area as that can crimp or crush the wire and damage it. We'll go ahead and close our hatch down and now you're ready to plug into your trailer. When you're done using your 4-flat wiring, simply raise the rear hatch, put the cover back on the 4-flat, we'll go ahead and store the 4-flat wiring down near the spare tire to keep it safe from the elements. We'll begin by opening up the rear hatch of the vehicle. We'll first lift up our cover or panel right here and support it so that it stays up out of our way. We'll go ahead and lift this tray out of the way. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Volvo XC90- Video
All right today 2013 Volvo XC90 we're going to install part number 118411 from Tow Ready. Okay, the first thing that we need to do is go ahead and open up the back hatch, and we need to remove the rear floor panel to get access down to the spare tire area. Well also youre going to remove two small panels next to it, one on each side, and also the two side panels. That gives us access to the two tail lights. All right, once we've gotten access to our wiring, we can go ahead and start installing our T wiring parts. First off we're going to take the T connector with yellow wire, starting on the drivers side, well go ahead and route it underneath the side panel, and then we'll go ahead and run it up to our connection point. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Volvo XC90- Video
Today on our 2007 Volvo XC90, were going to install the Tow-Ready T1 connector, part number 118411.To begin our installation, well first need to open up the rear cargo doors. Now, well need to remove the rear storage tray and lid. To do this, well go ahead and open up the lid, unhook the two cam buckles and then remove the storage tray. Now well start here on the passenger side, by removing the corner floor trim piece and the passenger side trim panel compartment door. Next, well go ahead and repeat the same process on the driver side. Here on the driver side, located near the third row seating seatbelt retractor, well locate the manufacturers wiring and wiring connector. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Volvo XC90- Video
Today on this 2009 Volvo XC90 we are going to be installing part number 118411 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is remove our floor panel in our trunk. Then on both sides we are going to remove this piece here and also on both sides we are going to remove this panel as well. There is a pull tab at the bottom, we just want to pull it up and then it pops right out. 00:20 more
